Dartmouth is a delightful little port and olde world town of historic proportions, close to Torbay and in the soft climate of the South Hams.

Situated on the banks of the River Dart, Dartmouth is dominated by the 15th century Castle and the naval college. There is a wealth of history and ships have departed Dartmouth since the Crusades to D-Day. The narrow cobbled streets are packed with gift shops, art galleries and cafes.

The Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway runs to its terminus at Kingswear where you may cross the River Dart by ferry to Dartmouth.

Visit the Dartmouth Pottery to see the entire design and production process, and marvel at the stunning building in which it is housed.

Just outside Dartmouth, on the road to Kingsbridge, are the beautiful Blackpool Sands, and fabulous Slapton Sands beyond. Here you have seaside, countryside and riverside all together.
